Barefoot ceremony at low tide, oceanfront tent reception, and the deck-side cocktails on the four-island stretch from Sullivan’s to Kiawah.
Charleston's beach weddings happen on four islands. Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms is the most-bookable full-service oceanfront property — ceremony on the sand, reception in the ballroom or under tent. The Windjammer (also IOP) and a handful of beach-house venues on Sullivan's bring smaller, looser receptions. Folly Beach is more bohemian: the Tides hotel, Loggerheads, and beach-house rentals stand in for traditional venue rooms. Kiawah Island Resort and Seabrook Island Club bracket the upper end — private-island gates, ocean-and-marsh combinations, full hotel amenities, and accordingly higher minimums. Public-beach ceremonies require Town permits; Sullivan's and Folly each cap weddings to specific times and party sizes.
