What locals are saying
Wild Dunes earns its setting — ocean and protected dunes on the eastern tip of Isle of Palms, championship golf, multiple pools, and a spa that together make a convincing coastal resort pitch. The math gets complicated fast, though: nightly rates north of $600 stacked with a ~$100/day resort fee, vacation rental condos that range from well-appointed to humidity-damaged and undersupplied, and dining that shuts early and charges steep prices for casual fare. Service from individual staff members can be genuinely warm — World of Hyatt Globalists, in particular, tend to have a markedly smoother experience — but a gated entry operated by a third-party company that doesn't consistently communicate with the resort's own reservation system is a recurring structural frustration that sets a rough tone before guests even park the car.
