Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of charlestonranked.com (the "Site"), operated by CharlestonRanked ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site, and at least 16 if you live in the EU/UK. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at team@charlestonranked.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

You agree not to:

• Submit content you don't have the right to share, including content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
• Post defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or unlawful content.
• Manipulate rankings, vote multiple times, brigade, run bots, or otherwise game the Site.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you aren't authorized to access; probe, scan, or test the Site's vulnerability without permission.
• Scrape, mirror, or systematically harvest content without our written consent.
• Use the Site to send spam, malware, or unsolicited promotional content.

When you submit reviews, ratings, comments, photos, place submissions, or other material ("User Content"), you keep ownership of it. You grant CharlestonRanked a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display the User Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Site.

You represent that you have the rights to grant this license and that the User Content does not violate these Terms. We may remove or refuse User Content at our discretion, including content that is inaccurate, off-topic, promotional, or violates these Terms.

Rankings reflect community votes processed by our scoring system and are provided for informational and entertainment purposes. We do not guarantee that any particular place is open, safe, accurate, or suitable for your needs. Always verify hours, prices, and conditions directly with the business.

The Site, including its design, code, branding, and original editorial content, is owned by CharlestonRanked and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Site or its content except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

The Site contains links to third-party websites and displays advertising served by third parties (including Google AdSense). We don't control and aren't responsible for those sites or their content. Your interactions with advertisers and linked sites are between you and them. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising cookies.

You can stop using the Site and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you violate these Terms, create risk to us or other users, or if we're required to by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, license to User Content already submitted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHARLESTONRANKED AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

You agree to indemnify and hold CharlestonRanked harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes go into effect means you accept the revised Terms.
