The skate park earns quiet loyalty from local riders: free, rarely crowded, and aged enough to have real character. The dog park is the complicated piece — regulars love it, but muddy conditions after rain are a given, and owner attentiveness is inconsistent enough that scoping the crowd before you unleash is just standard West Ashley protocol. Wednesdays from April through October, the West Ashley Farmers Market takes over the grounds and gives the park its clearest identity as a genuine neighborhood hub.
