What locals are saying
White Point Garden is widely regarded by Charleston locals as one of the city's most cherished and irreplaceable public spaces — a free, nearly 6-acre park at the tip of the peninsula where the Ashley and Cooper Rivers meet, shaded by massive live oaks and ringed by antebellum mansions. Locals treat it as an everyday retreat for dog walks, family photos, and quiet afternoons away from the tourist crowds on Rainbow Row and the French Quarter. There is virtually no serious criticism; the main caveats are street parking scarcity and the park's heavy use for weddings and photo shoots, which can make it feel staged at peak times.
