What locals are saying
Eight years into its run on Center Street, Slice of Folly quietly changed hands in August 2024 when a local Folly Beach couple — longtime New York and Connecticut transplants with real pizza credibility — bought the shop their teenage sons had spent summers working in. The draw is the by-the-slice format: thin-crust, NY-style, around $5 a pop, with a gluten-free option that's drawn some of the loudest praise in the room. Whole pies exist but carry a wait; on an island where the only competing pizzeria routinely clocks two-hour ticket times, Slice of Folly's late-night, grab-and-go model fills a gap that's hard to overstate.
