What locals are saying
The Gaillard Center occupies a singular position in Charleston's wedding landscape — a performing arts hall that doubles as the city's most architecturally commanding reception venue. The 13,142-square-foot Grand Ballroom, with 24-foot coffered ceilings in Wedgewood blue and cream, can accommodate up to 800 for a seated wedding reception and flows directly onto the Terrace Lawn, where manicured gardens frame the downtown skyline. The mandatory exclusive in-house caterer is the venue's most consistent point of friction — couples don't bring outside food or beverage — but as a nonprofit, venue and AV fees are tax-exempt, which softens the blow on large-scale budgets.
