What locals are saying
Station 21 sits at the busiest stretch of Sullivan's Island, close enough to Middle Street's handful of restaurants to make a post-swim detour easy — and one of only three handicap-accessible entries on the entire island. The 700-foot boardwalk threads through dune grass and wildflowers and is genuinely scenic, but the path has been flagged for broken and missing planks, overgrowth that narrows the walk, and a slightly awkward wooden-board scramble at the end. Free street parking on Pettigrew fills quickly on summer weekends, and the island's residential character means enforcement is real — there's no overflow lot to fall back on.
