What locals are saying
Theodora Park is a beloved, artisan-crafted pocket park in the Ansonborough neighborhood, masterminded by local David Rawle and named for his mother — a labor of love rather than a city-built amenity. Locals and visitors consistently praise its tranquil fountain pool (lined with 370 handmade ceramic tiles), Philip Simmons wrought-iron gate, and purple bistro chairs as a rare, human-scaled oasis amid the bustle of downtown Charleston. It draws very little criticism — the main caveat being its small size — and earns special seasonal attention for its holiday light display.
