What locals are saying
The Tattooed Moose has been a Park Circle anchor since relocating from downtown, trading on a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives bump that mostly delivered on its promise: the Duck Club — duck confit, hickory-smoked bacon, hickory-smoked cheddar, and garlic aioli on a Hawaiian roll — is the real thing, and the Lucky #1 Sub (Chinese BBQ pork belly, house-made kimchi, wasabi mayo) has its own devoted following. Duck fat fries with blue cheese fondue and the Sunday brunch plate are the supporting cast that keeps regulars driving in from James Island. The dissenting view is real: the Hawaiian roll can buckle under wet fillings, prices have crept up, and the dive-bar grime is intentional décor — not everyone's comfortable with that trade-off.
