What locals are saying
Post House occupies an 1896 building at the center of Old Village, reimagined in 2019 by British-born restaurateur Ben Towill — of Basic Kitchen and New York's The Fat Radish — into a coastal tavern and inn with Michelin recognition. The patio, dressed with potted olive trees, gas lanterns, and a covered awning, is arguably the finest outdoor dining room in Mt. Pleasant, and dishes like the blue crab fried rice with kimchi and poached egg, the butterbean burger, and the goat cheese crème brûlée deliver on that setting more often than not. The restaurant went through a closure and recent reopening under new management, and execution has been uneven enough that a handful of locals feel the atmosphere still leads the kitchen by a length on any given night.
