What locals are saying
Hutson Alley is a cobblestone passage off John Street, tucked between King and Meeting, where Holy City Hospitality runs a tight cluster of concepts — Vincent Chicco's Italian, Victor Social Club, Coast Bar and Grill, and the aptly named Charleston's Smallest Bar — all under string lights and the drift of live jazz. The European-inflected bones (ivy-clad brick, high wood-beamed ceilings) do considerable atmospheric work, and the shared-alley setup pulls off a genuine sense of occasion that a single standalone restaurant rarely manages. Victor Social Club anchors the cocktail side with some seriousness — the Hemingway Daiquiri draws repeat orders all night — while Vincent Chicco's house-made veal-and-pork meatball has become the Italian side's calling card.
