El Molino operates as a full-service Mexican market on Sam Rittenberg — carnicería, panadería, and an in-house taqueria anchored by one of the only working tortillerias in Charleston, one that quietly supplies fresh corn tortillas to other local restaurants as well. The counter-service taqueria, order-at-the-podium and styrofoam-box delivery included, punches well above its setting with birria tacos, al pastor, and tortas that have built genuine cross-neighborhood loyalty; Taco Tuesdays bring the price down enough to make it a weekly habit for a lot of West Ashley regulars. The grocery side draws occasional gripes about prices running higher than comparable Latin markets, and some friction with management, but the taqueria's consistency keeps the loyalists from caring.
